Requests and checklists
TaxDome documents several ways to request answers and files, including organizers and personalized document checklists.
TaxDome help center ↗Apraxo and TaxDome · tax firms
TaxDome already combines client requests, documents, jobs, and a Windows drive. Apraxo is building a similar full path with a particular focus on the moment intake becomes tax work. That focus is a product goal. We have not yet tested whether it makes the job easier for a firm.
Start with what exists
A fair comparison has to acknowledge the work TaxDome already does. Its help center describes organizers, document checklists, and client requests. Completed client actions can contribute to automatic job movement. Its Windows app includes a virtual drive for client files.

TaxDome help center ↗Its job-automove guide names completed checklist items and submitted client requests among actions that can move a job.
Job automove guide ↗TaxDome documents a Windows app and virtual drive that work with File Explorer and desktop tax software.
Desktop app ↗Apraxo plans checklists, linked pending items, tax pipelines, and a Windows file workflow. None of those is a feature TaxDome lacks. A meaningful reason to choose Apraxo would have to come from how the full journey works for your firm, once the pilot can demonstrate it.
The switching test
Take a real pattern, with fictional client data, into both products. A client is missing a W-2, uploads the wrong version, then sends the right one. Watch what the client must do and what staff must check before the job moves.
How long does it take to make the checklist your firm actually uses?
Can the client tell what remains and correct the wrong upload?
Can the reviewer see accepted and pending items without opening several screens?
Which action moves the job, and what still needs a person’s decision?
We have not completed this test. Until then, neither “simpler than TaxDome” nor “faster than TaxDome” belongs on this page.
An honest fit check
You need an available tax-practice suite today and want documented workflows for client requests, jobs, and desktop files. A firm already using it should identify a specific handoff problem before considering a move.
You run a small tax or accounting firm, can participate in an early pilot, and want to test a focused client-intake-to-job path with the product team. We will confirm what has shipped and how client data will be handled before onboarding.
Do not switch on the strength of a feature checklist. Ask your staff and a few clients to complete the same request in both systems, then compare the work left for the firm.
Checked 13 October 2026
TaxDome capabilities are described in its request-documents guide, job-automove guide, and desktop-app page. Apraxo’s column reflects the planned tax pilot. We have not independently tested TaxDome’s current plans, support, performance, or pricing, and we have not completed a head-to-head test with Apraxo.
Vendor documentation may change. We will update this page when the pilot provides a usable product and repeatable test results.
For small tax firms
If you already use TaxDome, we want the concrete example: which request, file, or job step still sends your staff back to email or manual tracking? That is what we need to test in the Apraxo pilot.
